An amazing experience all around! From the initial booking to day 1 . Dolakh the agency owner was extremely helpful in answering questions and getting me pointed in the right direction for the needed travel/evac insurance. He was always ready to assist in anyway he could. The provided itinerary and packing list were spot on for everything we needed. We were greeted at the Kathmandu airport by our guide , Nabin, who was with us from that point on , every step of the way . We stayed one night in Kathmandu at the agency’s Everest Boutique Hotel, a really beautiful full service hotel nestled in the Thamel tourist district. From the beginning of the trek to the end , Nabin , our guide, waited on us hand and foot. He had breakfast to us as soon as we arrived in the lodge dining rooms each morning. He was clear in his communications each day and made sure we knew what to expect. Lunch along the trail was always a welcome stop. Usually at small village restaurant. Nabin attended to us getting our food ordered while we just relaxed and reenergized for the afternoon ahead. He was never pushy and made us feel like we had to stay on a schedule. The trek is built for you to enjoy and go as slow or fast as needed. We went slow and just enjoyed all the incredible scenery. And, wow, the scenery! A spiritual experience ! What a gift from God to all of us! Our porter, Prim, was amazing. He would pack out our trekking bags in the morning and have them waiting in our lodge rooms that evening. Incredible what these porters can do. I highly recommend this agency and trek. An experience of a lifetime!

The owner of Mountain Mart, Dolakh, is also owner of Everest Boutique Hotel in Thamel. Therefore, he knows everyone’s coming and going; so your transport, accommodation, trekking tour is all perfectly arranged!

First, the hotel. . . Everest Boutique Hotel is a beautiful, perfectly located newly opened hotel tucked just away on a quieter street (for Kathmandu ;)). There is a roof top terrace overlooking the city and Monkey Temple. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in (I even dreamed about it while freezing on the mountain ;)

The trek . . . there were 4 of us and we had the ‘absolute greatest guide of all times,’ Makar! He could not have been more kind, thoughtful, informative and patient! He was always available and attended to our every request with a smile, pointed out and explained cultural sights of interest, helped us with whatever we needed and made sure we were all comfortable and well taken care of at all times. I am grateful to have accomplished my goal of reaching EBC and could not have imagined a better experience. Thank you, Makar!

Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return Tour

We had a great time on our 10 day Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return. I really did not know what to expect once we made the booking, but I was pleasantly surprised. First of all - the company owner Dolakh is super responsive and ensures that all your questions are answered. In addition, he took care of all the logistics and made sure that our journey was smooth. You are essentially placing your safety on this company, and they take it seriously and make sure there are no issues. I saw a lot of other companies that really don't provide this level of service and care.

Last but not least, our guide (Yu Kumar) was awesome! He is in the photo attached with the review. He ensured our safety and comfort throughout the trip. He made sure he made bookings with lodges that had attached bathroom whenever possible. He also cut us fresh fruit every night and also taught us some local Nepali tunes during the trip. He made the trip a lot of fun, and I was really sad to leave because it felt like we had become family. Do yourself a favor and go ahead and book a trip with this company and request for Yu Kumar as the guide. They have 800+ 5 star reviews for a reason.

Did the Everest Base Camp with Helicopter return. Everything worked out well and enjoyed the trip immensity. Do your self a favor an enjoy the time and leave your cell phone behind. We got to experience local culture on the treck, involved in the lives of our guides and porters, and had a wonderful time at some of the tea houses and local "pool" halls. Make sure to ask for Yukumar. I witnessed other tours leaving their people behind and forcing them higher when experiencing AMS and losing consciousness on the trail. Make sure you choose a reputable and caring organization when booking your trip.

I just completed one of my dreams of going to Everest Base Camp Heli Trekking Heli trip. I was very pleased to go with Mountain Mart trek. The owner, Dolakh was able to answer the many questions we had before our trip via email. He was very accommodating to my specific schedule.

When we arrived in Nepal from the US, and completed immigration and collected our baggage, we were greeted by our guide Lochan. From that moment on, he truly was our “guide” before, during and after the trek. He always made sure all our concerns and needs were addressed throughout the trek.

The company also provided us with a porters. We had the pleasure of having Dawa as our Porter. He carried our duffel bags all the way up and down the trek and all the stops in between. And when he is not helping carrying our bags, he would join us during some of our hikes to assist us during the hike. He also was great to have around to take the “perfect picture”. And at night he would join us at the dinning room to help service us. He also took the time to make us an apple pie dessert.

I was very happy having Lochan and Dawa as our guide and porter. By the end of the trek, they were like my new brothers who helped me achieve my dreams.

I would highly recommend Mountain Mart Treks if you plan an doing the Everest Base Camp.

Having never done a high altitude trek I was excited and slightly nervous. Everest base camp is something I’ve also wanted to do, and going through mountain mart was the best decision I made! From early emails and WhatsApp messages with Dolahk, it made preparations easy. Once I arrived in Kathmandu the day before the trek we met that afternoon for a last minute briefing and double check I had everything which after the meeting, my guide Bishal, led me around Thamel and helped me pick up some last minute things (cheap too!). The following 10 days were nothing short of amazingly beautiful landscapes and at times some tough trekking at altitude. All of which was made so easy because of my amazing guide Bishal. He was so attentive, I never had to leave my seat at the lodges I would simply look up and he would already be walking over. He set the pace and knew when I should rest more or could work harder, he was also very knowledgeable having grown up in the Khumbu region. I can’t fault his amazing service and I don’t think he even broke a sweat the entire time, he’s superhuman!! I would recommend mountain mart to anyone I know without hesitation!

I am about 3 weeks late on this review but wanted to make sure I left it anyway. 3 weeks ago I took the 10-day helicopter EBC trek with Makar as our guide and I cannot say enough how great Makar was! He really made this whole trip amazing. He was always extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. Always going above and beyond our expectations. I highly recommend using Mountain Mart for any other their treks. Even though I have one done one with them I am sure they are all just as good.

Mountain Mart.. you really have someone special in Makar! I hope you always take care of him like he always took care of us. Give this man a raise! :)

Epic Everest Basecamp Trek with Helicopter Return - 10 days
This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience if you have 2 weeks to spare. It's 7-8 days of trekking (depending on how many acclimatization days you need) plus a travel day on each side to fly in and out of Lukla from Kathmandu. (flights are often canceled due to bad weather.) You hike 7K-13K (very reasonable) and gain 400-800 meters per day (less at the end as you are already so high)

Three things make this an Epic adventure:
1) Check out the pictures - You get a diverse range of views from waterfalls to forests to frozen tundra with lots of cool animals around you, and finally - breathtaking views of Mt. Everest.
2) You have a supportive team around you with Mountain Mart
3) You walk through a dozen or so active sherpa villages, which are fascinating because they are functioning communities completely void of automobiles and all built by hand (with beautiful stone patios and walls), serving delicious Nepalese food and drink

Mountain Mart with Dolakh coordinating from Kathmandu and Prem as our guide on the trail (along with an assistant guide and a porter) offered an incredible start to finish journey that made our trip better than many of the other groups we saw along the way. All you have to do is find flights in and out of Kathmandu and Mountain Mart handles the rest at an unbeatable price. They even let you use their high-quality sleeping bags and duffel bags on the trail. They are kind, thoughtful, team players who are incredibly knowledgeable (all of them started as porters on the trail) and coordinate EVERYTHING. They take care of the hotel in Kathmandu, the flights to and from Lukla, all your meals, your accommodations in the tea houses along the trail and bring a first aid kit to test your oxogen and pulse each night to make sure you are doing okay. We felt safe and learned so much along the way.

Mountain Mart keeps their groups small so you really get to know the people you are with and can keep to your chosen pace without having to wait for a ton of folks to catch up or slow down (depending which side of the spectrum you are on). Prem gives you the locals experience. He knows everyone along the way and teaches you about culture, mountains, food, trekking and anything else you are curious about.

Finally, you have the choice (before you book) of either taking a helicopter back to Lukla(15 mins) or trek back down the mountains the way you came. (2 days) Since you already see everything going up, we recommend taking the helicopter back down. It's an incredible view and helps keep the trip under two weeks if you have to get back to the states like us.

Weather
We went mid September to early October and it got up to about 70F during the day and as cold as about 27F at night. We only had rain/snow one day during our hike and the Mountain Mart team was prepared with tarps to protect our belongings.

A word of warning, this trip is not for everyone. You need to be:
-In Shape: to handle the trekking each day (You can technically do it if you are out of shape, but you'll have a lot more fun if you've built up your heart with cardio beforehand)
-Vegetarian: meat in the mountain isn't safe because the locals bring it up without refrigeration
-Okay With Being Cold: there is no heat in your rooms and it gets cold quickly from about 4pm - 7am so you'll be wearing an obnoxious amount of layers in your sleeping bag
-Tough enough to deal with: no showers, spotty to no internet, headaches from high altitude and very smelly bathroom areas.
-Patient enough to deal with multiple canceled flights, which might delay your trek.

If you can handle that, then the trekking, locals, views, animals and thoughtful team at Mountain Mart with make for one of the best experiences of your life.

This was one of the more challenging but rewarding trips I’ve done!!! So glad to have checked Mt. Everest base camp off my bucket list! Quite an accomplishment! Nepal and the culture was unlike any I’ve experienced... and I’ve traveled the world. Absolutely breathtaking!

Still don’t know how he did it but most definitely made my brothers day!

Makar was our guide and he was beyond helpful and attentive to our needs. He was very knowledgeable and enjoyable to be with for the 10 days and made our trip much less stressful with his help and support.

Friend of mine booked the trip so I can’t speak to the ease of booking and working through Mountain Mart but upon arrival they were organized and easy to work with. We did a 10 day rapid ascent to Everest Base Camp and the trip was well organized but also offered us flexibility if we were struggling with the altitude which was a relief, not knowing how well we’d do. The trek was amazing, I loved it but what really made it one to remember was the people.

I have nothing but a grand review, for our guide Yukumar and our porter Kamal. Kumar went above and beyond every step of the way and paid attention to every detail of our comfort, not to mention he was good company to have beside you on the trail or in the Tea Houses. He is incredibly knowledgeable of the mountains, terrain, villages, and Nepali culture. I learned a lot from Kumar during the trek and his constant support helped me get through a rapid trek. Through my first experience with altitude sickness to holding my hand down an icy Kala Patthar, Kumar was a constant. Kamal was also a constant smiling face and helping hand. While Kumar was helping me down Kala Patthar, Kamal was assisting my trekking partner down.

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience and what a joy it was to trek with Kumar and Kamal. I missed them as soon as I left and I can’t wait to plan another trek. When returning to Nepal, I will explicitly seek these two to be by my side.

I can’t speak highly enough of this company! I decided very last minute to do this, booking merely weeks in advance and Dolakh was very efficient with replying to my questions! On the trek my guide Bhoj was a superstar- always smiling and happy, and always making sure I was well fed with snacks! He really helped me make it up Kala Patthar and when I fell over and hurt my ankle and he quickly looked after it. When I next come to Nepal I will definitely request to have him as a guide again.

I made it to Everest Base Camp Heli Trek and loved the entire trip. Mountain Mart played a pivotal role in making this such a great adventure. The guides they found for us made all the difference in the world.
Our guide, Makar Tamang, is remarkable! I can tell he knew what makes a great adventure even better. He knew every mountain and its specifications, he knew all the local culture and customs and explained them so clearly, he knew what to suggest and what to avoid, he completely understands customer service, his English was amazing, he knew all the right people to get the special orders or service, and he knew the little extras that made it special. Most impressive is who he is, Makar is kind, patient, humble, helpful, FUN, bright, eager, careful, encouraging, and consistent.
Gorka Tamang, our assistant guide was always out front keeping the perfect pace and making sure we were safe and enjoyed the journey. Both the guides and my son had a blast together laughing, singing, sharing and playing around.
There is no way to perfectly describe the views you will see on this journey from the lush green and magical waterfalls of the lower section to the powerful majestic views of the mountains and vistas of the upper section.

We had a great experience with Mountain Mart Treks. We booked the trek online via email. Dolakh, the owner, was super responsive and helpful. We put 20% down and paid the rest upon our arrival to Kathmandu.

A day before the trek we met at the offices. We met Dolakh and our guide Nabin. They went over what we were doing everyday and all the gears we would need. He gave great advice and tips. Very helpful!

The next day a driver picked us up with out guide from our hotel. Nabin took care of us throughout the trek. He provided us with everything we needed including snacks and water. He was very attentive and also a great time.

I would def recommend!

Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return

Just completed a 9 day Everest Base Camp trek with our amazing guide Kumar from Mountain Mart. The trek allowed us to not only visit Everest and the Khumbu valley, but also many amazing villages, rivers, and waterfalls along the way. Kumar ensured our group was well prepared for each day of trekking, and monitored our progress along the way as we acclimatized to the high elevation. The weather was excellent allowing for breathtaking views from both Base Camp, and Kala Patthar. We elected to charter a helicopter return from Gorakshep which Kumar and Mountain Mart arranged for us.

If you are looking for a hassle free trip to experience the highest mountain in the world, Kumar and Mountain Mart are your best bet!

The trek was perfectly organized, the lodges were good and clean, according to our requests, meals always good and with several options, and we had an amazing team: our guide Bhoj did everything to make us feel at home, he was available 24/7 and took care of all our needs. The team gave us great comfort in challenging times (especially at high altitude, when we were tired and the trek was more difficult). Needless to say, the trek itself was SUPERB! Amazing and varied landscapes, and the emotion to get to EBC was unbelievable!!!! We were impressed by these professionals and loved all local people we met during our stay in Solukhumbu region.

We hiked to Everest Base Camp and helicoptered back down. As a traveler who always seeks to be with the locals, getting to know our guides Makar and Gorka was possibly my favorite part. They were were humble, happy and knowledgable young men. Makar speaks fantastic english. I didn't do any of the planning, but I was told that moutain mart helped out loads with logistics. Highly recommend Moutain Mart and the Makar/Gorka duo.

Me and my best friend booked a 4-day short EBC trekking tour with Mountain Mart Treks. Dolakh (owner and correspondent) was very helpful in answering to our queries. He helped us planned the intinerary and booked our dosmetic flights to Lukla from Kathmandu (to and fro). Airport transfers were also included.

The 4 day short trek was an amazing experience. The two of us stayed in proper lodges. The company also provided us with sleeping bags and that really helped us stay warm during the night while we slept.

Our guide, Makar Tamang, was very knowledgeable and helpful. While we trekked, he explained very patiently the various names of the villages and the different mountains. He also took good care of our meals and our well-being, constantly asking if we are ok during the trek. He was also flexible with the tour intinerary and made suggestions that helped made the trek more enjoyable.

We had a very strong porter, Prem, who helped us with our bags and made our trek a very enjoyable and manageable one
